PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the color dispersion of an optical signal by providing a delay means for applying differential delay to two spectrally separated components of the optical signal, and providing an adjusting means for adjusting the differential delay applied to two spectrally separated reflected components. SOLUTION: An optical system is provided with a delay means for imparting differential delay to two spectrally separated components of an optical signal and an adjusting means for adjusting the differential delay imparted to two spectrally separated reflected components. For example, a selective differential delay system is provided with a circulator 30 having an input port 31, a filter port 32 and an output port 33. The port 32 is connected to optical filters 35. Respective tunable and chirped filters 35 can separately be tuned and are respectively provided with a control means for controlling tuning of each filter 35 by applying stimulation at a proper level, e.g. to each filter 35. |
