PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a suitable image process of inputted image data according to various edition requirements to output appropriate image data cleared of influences of the characteristics of an image input means or an image output means. SOLUTION: A user sets an original in a reader 101, and selects a transfer paper on an operation display 109 to request the copying operation. Image data of the original read by the reader 101 are sent to an image data processor 115 via a memory 108 over a universal bus, and image data processed by the data processor 115 are stored in the memory 108 over the universal bus. If the original is set in a different direction from the transfer paper, the image data stored in the memory 108 are turned by 90° when passing through a bus controller 107, again stored in the memory 108, then sent to a plotter 102 to print on the transfer paper, and stored on an HDD 103.
