PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of instantaneously detecting a winding jam to a fixing roller and easily processing the winding jam by detecting a fixing roller surface temperature at the different parts of a fixing roller width direction and detecting the jam of a transfer material from the change of the detected surface temperature. SOLUTION: The transfer material is carried with a center as a reference and setting is performed so as to use the transfer materials of plural sizes from the transfer material 10A of a maximum size width to the transfer material 10B of a minimum size width. Then, two temperature sensors 24 and 25 are attached to the fixing roller 20, one temperature sensor 24 is arranged within the width of the transfer material 10B of the minimum size width and the other temperature sensor 25 is arranged on the outer side of the width of the transfer material 10A of the maximum size width. Then, a control part 26 instantaneously detects the winding jam to the fixing roller 20 from the detected temperature difference of both temperature sensors 24 and 25 and a main motor for driving a fixing heater, the fixing roller 20 and a sheet carrying system is stopped by using the signals. |
