PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a desired gradation reproduction curve by detecting characteristic showing toner response to plural input signals and adjusting a control parameter influencing the height of toner particle cloud in the case of deciding that the characteristic is out of an allowable level. SOLUTION: A TAC sensor 44 is an infrared reflectance type sensor, and measures mass (DMA) developed per unit area of a toner patch on a belt 32. An output signal from a sensor 44 is transmitted to a controller 40 as a feedback signal. A TAC or an OCD reads a control patch as a sensor, and a signal provided with the Characteristic showing the toner response of a printer realized as the patch is communicated by the controller 40. It is compared with a specified target value by the controller 40. When the compared result is out of the previously selected target, adjustment is performed according to algorithm. |
