<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress degradation in a data line driving circuit or the like caused by, for example, UV light irradiation. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal device 1 has light shielding films 201a and 201b overlapping only a scanning line driving circuit 104 and a data line driving circuit 101 in a peripheral circuit unit provided in a peripheral region of an image display region 10a. The light shielding films 201a, 201b are formed in the same layer as a part of a plurality of layers formed on a TFT array substrate 10. Therefore, UV rays irradiating semiconductor elements such as TFTs possessed by the data line driving circuit 101 and the scanning line driving circuit 104 can be blocked by the light shielding films 201a, 201b when a sealing material 52 or a sealing portion 156 is irradiated with UV rays through the TFT array substrate 10 during manufacturing the liquid crystal device 1, and damages on the semiconductor elements by UV rays can be decreased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
