Only the first Peltier element 11 is exposed to the incident light to be measured whereas both Peltier elements 11 and 13 are exposed to the ambient temperature. The Peltier devices are electrically connected in series with opposite polarities via a thermally conductive block 15. The incident light intensity can be determined using the output of any one or both of the Peltier elements. The detector is may be used for monitoring and controlling the output of a laser. |
