PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator capable of obtaining periodic power by using a liquid bumping phenomenon. SOLUTION: The actuator 10 is provided with a container 11 storing working fluid F becoming liquid, a warming means 13 for warming the lower portion of the container 11, a cooling means 15 for cooling the upper portion of the container 11, and an operation part 18 provided associated with the upper end side of the container 11 and operable due to the bumping phenomenon of the working fluid F. The container 11 comprises an evaporation part 22 on the lower side and a condensation part 23 on the upper side. The warming means 13 makes the working fluid F in the overheating state to enable periodic fluctuation of the pressure inside the container 11 caused by the bumping phenomenon of the working fluid F. During bumping of the working fluid F inside the evaporation part 22, when the vaporized working fluid F is moved to the condensation part 23, the working fluid F is condensed and liquefied again by the cooling means 15 and returned to the evaporation part 22. Thus, the pressure of an inner space S of the container 11 is periodically fluctuated, and in accordance with the pressure fluctuation, the operation part 18 is periodically operated.
