PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a user touches a lot of keys and has restrictions on expressions in a current portable IT input keyboard compatible with 26 alphabets with a 4×3 keypad. SOLUTION: Character input speed is significantly increased by using two 4x3 keypads to be used for inputting 23 alphabets with the help of complementarity of the alphabet by use of a shift key. A transparent or an opaque 4×3 keypad having symbols arranged therein other than a basic keypad in use displayed on a screen is used for input, so that quick and accurate input is achieved. When inputting numerical characters or pictograms, a symbol list representing a symbol group displayed on the screen is used as an index to input individual symbol group, so that it becomes possible to input a large variety of symbols systematically at high speed. Keys for Japanese sentence, English sentence, numerical characters, and pictograms are basically arranged in the same way, thereby facilitating learning the input method, facilitating change of input types, and contributing to understanding between different countries, fields of study, and senses.
