PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal capable of simply acquiring dictionary data in which characters with high use frequency by a user are registered from a server. SOLUTION: In a portable terminal 1, a control part 50 converts characters input by an operation part 51 by referring to a dictionary data part 53, creates a table in which the converted characters are registered, creates a character conversion frequency table 54 in which the converted characters are registered, reads and transmits the created character conversion frequency table 54 from a data communication part 55 to a dictionary server 40, receives a dictionary name display table 64 based on information of the character conversion frequency table 54, which is transmitted from the dictionary server 40, displays the received dictionary name display table 64 on a display part 21, selects an arbitrary dictionary name from the dictionary name display table 64 displayed on the display part 21, and acquires dictionary data with the selected dictionary name from the dictionary server 40.
