The present invention relates to a fault protection system for a portable power converter of a fuel cell vehicle and, more specifically, to a fault protection system for a portable power converter of a fuel cell vehicle, diagnosing a fault of a voltage sensing circuit within the power converter and enabling an emergency operation of the power converter when the fault is diagnosed, in order to prevent the damage to a system, caused by energy unexpectedly introduced to the fuel cell vehicle from an external power system connected through the power converter converting direct current power into alternating current power.
