PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a plant gene construct which allows the selection of the male fertility or sterility by suppressing the division of biogenesis of a germinatable pollen by a disrupter protein by the expression of a repressor protein which acts responding to the presence or absence of an exogenous inducer in a plant. SOLUTION: This construct consists of (a) a control sequence which consists of the first gene promotor sequence which acts responding to the presence or absence of an exogenous chemical inducer, and is operably and mutually linked to a gene encoding repressor protein, (b) a gene promoter sequence which can be expressed only in a male part of a plant, (c) a gene which encodes a disrupter protein capable of dividing the biogenesis of a germinatable pollen under the control of a gene promotor specific to the male flower, and (d) an operator sequence which responds to the repressor protein, and controls the expression of the gene encoding the disrupter protein. |
