A laminated structure comprises a core of foam plastics material and sheet material facings adhering thereto having an outer edge portion at which the facing is bent to extend over the adjacent core edge towards the other facing for a distance less than half the thickness of the core and having a lip extending inwardly therefrom between the facings. The inner and other edge portions may be similarly shaped. A method of making the laminate in which the two outer facing sheets are disposed on a jig braced to withstand pressure and the core formed in situ is described. Specified spacings are plastics impregnated fabrics or mats of loosely woven fibres, e.g. of glass, plastics and sheet metals, the specified core material being foamed polystyrene. |
