A method for making cyanacrylic acid esters by depolymerizing polycyanacrylic acid esters continuously. The polymer, admixed with an inert liquid of high boiling point and a polymerization inhibitor, is depolymerized by heating a thin layer of this mixture - up to 5 centimeters thick - at a temperature from 150 DEG - 250 DEG C. at a pressure of 0.5 - 40 mmHg.
