PURPOSE:To enhance resistance to water and oils, by incorporating a reaction product of esterification of boric acid or a boric acid triester of a lower alcohol with a polyhydric alcohol having adjacent hydroxyl groups into an overcoat layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal color forming layer comprising a colorless or light- colored dye precursor and a color developer for developing the color of the dye precursor by reacting therewith when being heated is provided on a base such as a paper and a non-woven fabric. Further, the overcoat layer comprising a water- soluble high molecular weight compound as a main constituent and comprising a reaction product of esterification of boric acid or a boric acid triester with one or more polyhydric alcohols having adjacent hydroxyl groups is provided on the thermal color forming layer to produce a thermal recording sheet. The dye precursor may be a compound based on triphenyl methane, fluoran, diphenylmethane or the like. |
