PURPOSE:To provide a steel sheet for a spiral fin having superior workability and oxidation resistance at high temp. by subjecting a hot rolled steel sheet contg. specified amounts of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Cr and Al to cold rolling, slitting to a narrow width and annealing at a proper temp. CONSTITUTION:A hot rolled steel sheet consisting of, by weight, <=0.015% C, <=0.10% Si, <=0.20% Mn, <=0.015% P, <=0.010% S, 0.50-2.0% Cr, 0.01-0.10% Al and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities or further contg. <=0.10% Sb is cold rolled, slit to a narrow width and annealed at the recrystallization temp. - the Ar3 transformation point for about 5hr. A steel sheet for the spiral fin of a heat exchanger having extremely superior workability and oxidation resistance at high temp. can be manufactured at a low cost.
