NEW MATERIAL:Compounds of formulas I, II and III (R<1> and R<2> are hydroxy or acetoxy; R<3> is acetonyl or methoxy). EXAMPLE:Spiramine M. USE:An antiinflammatory drug. PREPARATION:The dried root portions of a Rosaceae Spiraea plant: Spiraea japonica var. acuminata is extracted with a solvent such as ethanol-water and the extract solution is concentrated. The concentrated extract is dissolved in an acid such as hydrochloric acid, filtered, mixed with ammonia-water, etc., to adjust to the pH9-10, and subsequently extracted with a solvent such as chloroform. The extract solution is dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate and concentrated to prepare a crude extract, which is purified and separated by a chromatography to provide the compounds of formulas I, II and III. |
