PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric actuator having, no vibration attenuation in a boundary layer of a vibrator and satisfactory propagating efficiency of a vibration energy. SOLUTION: This piezoelectric actuator comprises at least a movable body 11, a vibrator 12 and a pressurizing mechanism. As the vibrator 12, a piezoelectric material is used. A displacing bent part 13 fixed at one end and free at the other end is formed in the vibrator, and electrode films 14 are formed on both surfaces of the part 13. An AC voltage is applied to the film 14, so that the part 13 is bent and vibrated, and the element 11 brought into contact with a surface of the vibrator can be driven frictionally. Since a connecting boundary layer is not required due to the structure of the vibrator 12, vibration damping does not exit in the boundary layer, thereby high vibrating energy propagating efficiency is obtained. |
