PURPOSE:To provide a semiconductor integrated circuit which consists of an MPU and its peripheral circuits and can reduce the noises and the power consumption. CONSTITUTION:An MPU 2' contains a clock control part 22 and an execution executing part 23. The part 22 fetches a clock signal CLK0 from an outside and divides the signal CLK0 based on the control signal given from the part 23 to selectively output the divided clock signals CLK1 to the peripheral circuits 31-33. Thus it is possible to reduce the noises and the power consumption by amount equivalent to the stop states of the circuit 31-33 by discontinuing selectively the supply of the clock signals to these peripheral circuits.
