PURPOSE:To make a fast copying speed fast at the same process speed and to increase the number of copies per unit hour by making a carrying speed fast or putting back the speed to an original carrying speed when a sheet material is advancing. CONSTITUTION:This image forming device is provided with a carrying part 7 transferring an image on an image carrier onto the sheet material and then, separating the sheet material from the image carrier, to carry the sheet material from a separating part to the outside of a device and a roller fixing unit 8 holding the sheet material and fixing the image, on the carrying part 7. The passage of the sheet material up to the fixing nip part of the fixing unit 8 from the separating part is set shorter than the longest sheet material used for the image forming device. After the tailing edge of the sheet material is separated from the separating part, the carrying speed of the carrying part 7 in a direction where the sheet material is travelled from the separating part is made fast and after the sheet material passes the carrying part 7, the carrying speed of the carrying part 7 is put back. Thus, the process speed is not changed but the fast copy is made fast. |
