The semi-automatic control installation consists of a control device which operates a fail-safe high pressure shut off valve. The valve is operated by a special foot pedal. The foot pedal operates the valve via an electrical circuit. The electric circuit is used in place of the conventional pneumatic circuit, as pneumatic circuits can suffer from vibration delay and backlash effects.
