Silicone oil spring element for absorption of linear expansion on heating or cooling of rotating or moving working parts between two grains during an operation in a lathe is claimed, where a piston (4), which projects through a piston bearing (3) in a cylinder (1) filled with compressible medium (10), is pushed by a force other than that in the medium and is compressed up to counter force. If this force is then removed, the piston (4) comes to a stop. On the back side of the cylinder (1), a lozenge bevel (6) permits the insertion of the element in all possible rider end directions.
