Vehicle fuel tank cover flap

The flap covering the fuel filling cap in a vehicle has an inner flexible apron (23), which drops down to protect the paintwork when the flap is opened. The apron (23) has at least one pliable mounting strap (24), anchored in a release mounting in a passage opening (26) within the filling connection recessed unit (14). Preferably the apron (23) and strap (24) are of ethylene propylene terpolymer (EPDM), resistant to fuel and oil.
