SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of synthesis of trifluoromethane sulfoacid that is used as a catalyst in reactions of polymerization, esterification and dehydration. Trifluoromethane sulfoacid is synthesized by hydrolysis of trifluoromethanesulfofluoriide with an aqueous-spirituous mixture at 80-120 C followed by isolation of trifluoromethane sulfoacid as an azeotrope with water and treatment of azeotrope with oleum and distillation off an anhydrous trifluoromethane sulfoacid from obtained mixture.
