Computer tomography system using helix weighting algorithms for rapid reconstruction

The system produces a tomography image from projection data detected by helical sensing with an image reconstruction system designed to produce helix weights related to a distance function. The helix weights can be produced using individual weighting functions. The image reconstruction system can perform a generalized helix extrapolation or interpolation algorithm.
