PURPOSE: A belt type continuously variable transmission improves a fuel consumption, the durability of a belt and a power transmitting performance by preventing a slip. CONSTITUTION: A variable pulley(20) of a secondary pulley(4) and a driven shaft(22) are engaged with each other without interfering themselves during a rotation thereof. A cylindrical supporting member(32) is disposed on the outer periphery of a boss portion(30) of the variable pulley(20). The boss portion(30) and the cylindrical supporting member(32) having a male thread portion(34) and a female thread portion(36), respectively, are engaged with each other by the thread portions(34,36). A spring(24) is biased between the cylindrical supporting member(32) and a spring seat(40) for connecting one end of the supporting member(32) with the driven shaft(22) to move the supporting member(32), longitudinally.
