PURPOSE: A device and method for automatically regulating an antenna of a video display equipment, is provided to detect a rotation angle obtaining optimum definition quality by using intermediate frequency(IF)/radio frequency(RF) automatic gain control(AGC) voltage value, and to automatically drive the antenna at the rotation angle, so that optimum definition quality can be maintained for every channel without an additional manual operation. And the device and method is provided to rotate the antenna alternatively to the left/right, so that a tangle of an antennal cable can be prevented. CONSTITUTION: One of an intermediate frequency(IF) automatic gain control(AGC) voltage and a radio frequency(RF) AGC voltage is set up as an electric field decision standard, according to an electric field standard of a present antenna rotation angle. A measured value according to a corresponding rotation angle of a preset electric field intensity decision standard while rotating the antenna at a predetermined angle. A measurement value having higher electric field intensity than before is detected, and an antenna rotation angle for the measured value are updated and stored. If measurements are completed for every direction, the antenna is driven at a presently stored rotation angle.
