A non-volatile fuse is provided that greatly reduces wasteful current dissipation through the fuse itself. The fuse may be implemented on analog or digital electronic components. Additionally, it does not require startup or initialization circuitry after programming. The non-volatile fuse includes a pair of non-volatile transistors and a pair of cross-coupled transistors. The pair of cross-coupled transistors each has a drain coupled to a respective drain of one of non-volatile transistors and a gate coupled to the drain of the other non-volatile transistor. One transistor in the pair of non-volatile transistors is programmed during programming to set a fuse output signal at a desired value. The non-volatile fuse may further include a pair of programming transistors for selectively applying a programming voltage during programming. Each of the programming transistors has a source coupled to a programming voltage and a drain coupled to a respective drain of one of the pair of non-volatile transistors.
|
