PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar code reader which can greatly expand the readable range of a bar code by a scanner. SOLUTION: A scanner 12 (scanner fixed lever member 13) is provided in a swingable state to a lever member 22. When the lever member 22 (scanner 12) is in forward moving operation, the lever member 22 moves forward while the other end part of the scanner fixed lever member 13 and a 1st abutting member 57 abut against each other, so that the swing position of the scanner 12 about the lever member 22 is changed. On the other hand, when the lever member 22 is in backward moving operation, the lever member 22 moves backward while the other end part of the scanner fixed lever member 13 and a 2nd abutting part 58 abut against each other, the swing position of the scanner 12 about the lever member 22 is changed. Thus, the swing position of the scanner 12 about the lever member 22 is made different between the forward moving operation and the backward moving operation to make different the direction of the optical axis 1 of measurement light emitted by the scanner 12. |
