A detent device is pivoted to open position so that a secondary pawl is moved to an open position away from a frame, to permit opening of a portion of closure member when a main pawl (4) is engaged with a keeper or frame. The detent device, pivotally attached to a housing (3), moves the secondary pawl between open and close position so that secondary pawl engages the frame for closure member when detent device is set at close position. A spiral spring (14), which biases the main pawl, acts against the main pawl when the main pawl moves to open position. A handle (2) is pivotally attached to the housing to move the main pawl from open to close position. An independent claim is also included for a combination.
