The gun has a network of cold cathodes (RK) to emit an electron beam and a network of extraction grids (g1) associated to the cathode network, and a mesh electrode (GM) situated between the grid network and an acceleration and focusing grid system (G1, G2). A magnetic field induction device (MG) induces a magnetic field collinear with an axis of the gun in a zone comprised between the extraction grid and the mesh electrode.
