ROLLER FOR PRINTING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller for a printing machine, in which shock at the time of startup is reduced in contact of the roller. SOLUTION: An ink doctor 12 and a fifth roller 16 being a step roller are covered with a coating layer 33 consisting of a nonmetallic material having elasticity. The circumferential surface 28 of the coating layer 33 has a surface structure 29 obtained by working. Each of protruded structural members 30 of a surface structure 29 has a largely spread shape like a small sharp-pointed roof. The circumferential surface 28 has not large resistance for small deformation caused in the peripheral direction and stops force 32 in such a state as a spring by bending of the structural members 30.
