The measurement device (1) for momentary fluid level of sedimented fluid suspension comprises a tubular probe with one end inserted into the fluid in a position near to the bottom. The other probe end (2b) extends above the fluid level (3a) and to it is connected a pressure-producing unit (5) and a related pressure meter (6) graduated to indicate each pressure value representative of a momentary fluid level under a static pressure in the probe corresponding to a fluid amount (h) above the lower probe end. The lower probe end at the commencement of a measurement sequence, enclosed by a sluggishly moving sedimented product (3b), involves a portion (3b) of the product seen to penetrate the lower probe end to a certain extent. The pressure-producing unit during a first short period allows an excess pressure to enter the probe for free agitation of the collected product. During a second successive time period, the probe is allowed to register a lower excess pressure suitable as a level measurement.
