A method for registering photo/moving picture names in a mobile terminal is provided to remove the trouble of inputting photo/moving picture names one by one in person and enable the user to easily confirm information about photos and moving pictures through their names by automatically creating and registering the names of photos and moving pictures, through the camera of a mobile terminal, using the personal information stored in the mobile terminal. If a user takes a photo through the camera of his mobile terminal and makes a request to store the photo(S10,S12), a control part fetches information related to time among the personal information stored in a memory(S16). The control part compares photographed time information with the fetched information(S18) and judges whether information having the same date as the photographed date exists(S20). If so, the control part judges whether many pieces of information exist(S22). In case only one piece of information exists, the control part asks the user whether he wants to use the contents of the obtained information as a name for the photo(S24). If so, the control part creates a name for the photo, based on the contents of the obtained information(S26). Then the control part matches and stores the created name with the photo(D28).
