<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality by preventing horizontal stripes due to density unevenness after leaving. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a developer carrier which sticks a developer to a latent image formed on an image carrier; a developer supply member which supplies the developer to the developer carrier; and an idle rotation control processing means which increases the amount of the developer supplied to the developer carrier after the end of image formation in comparison with that during normal image formation and idly rotates at least the image carrier, the developer carrier, and the developer supply member without forming an image. After the end of image formation, the amount of the developer supplied to the developer carrier is increased in comparison with that during normal image formation and at least the image carrier, the developer carrier, and the developer supply member are idly rotated without forming an image. Consequently, the occurrence of horizontal stripes due to density unevenness after leaving can be prevented to improve the image quality. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
