<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently inspect a loading section at low cost, to which a plurality of image forming units are attached, in an image forming apparatus in which the image forming units can be attached detachably. <P>SOLUTION: Drum units provided by colors for a color laser printer are loaded detachably in the body frame 112 through slide frames. Drum cleaners 153 provided to the respective drum units are supplied with electric power from the body frame 112 via a common power supply line. When the power supply line from the body frame 112 to the respective drum cleaners 153 is inspected, a slide frame 240 for inspection provided with resistances R1 to R4, corresponding to the respective drum cleaners 153, is loaded in the body frame 112; and the voltage of the common power supply line on the side of the body frame 112 is detected determine the abnormality from the voltage value thereof.
