PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of fixing the position of a developer recovery port even if an image holder device and a developing device are rotated. SOLUTION: A trickle developer conveying passage 200 runs through the housing of a developing unit 40a from the inside of the developing unit 40a and is connected to a discharged developer conveying passage 87. The trickle developer conveying passage 200 is swung together with the developing unit 40a around the center of the discharged developer conveying passage 87. A residual toner conveying passage 210 is connected to the discharged developer conveying passage 87 from a residual toner recovery port 94. The residual toner conveying passage 210 is swung together with an image holder unit 38a around the center of the discharged developer conveying passage 87. The discharged developer conveying passage 87 recovers residual toner and trickle developer from the trickle developer conveying passage 200 and residual toner conveying passage 210 and conveys them toward a recovery passage 112.
