PIPE HAVING A WATER-TIGHT IN-LINE BELL

An in-line bell pipe is provided, formed by joining at least two corrugated sections of pipe having male (28) and female portions (20) to connect the corrugated sections. Each corrugated section has a plurality of first corrugations (22), each having a crest (25) and a valley (28) with the distance between the crest (25) and valley (25) of the first corrugations (2 2) being a first distance. The male portion (18) of each corrugated section has at least one second (32) and one third (42) corrugation, each second and thi rd corrugation respectively having a distance between the crest and valley of each being a second and third distance respectively. At least one third corrugation crest (45) has a recessed area (55) which accomodates a sealing element (60) retained between the recessed area (55) and the female portion (20).
