PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a tracking method which has good resolution, perform accurate tracking, and an information recording and reproducing device. SOLUTION: A ferromagnetic part is formed at part of an information recording medium. For example, ferromagnetic parts 102 are formed across a track 101, where data are recorded and reproduced and a magnetic head 109 equipped with a right and a left magnetic head detect the ferromagnetic parts 102 by the heads respectively to perform tracking control. Namely, when a magnetic field detected by the left head is smaller than a magnetic head detected by the right head, the heads are moved toward the left to read and write data. The ferromagnetic parts 102 can be formed into a pit shape. |
