PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biomass power generation wooden chip drying device and drying method in which the biomass power generation wooden chip can be heated and dried with hot air got through combustion of solid fuel of wooden biomass and the like of low environmental load in place of fossil fuel.SOLUTION: There are provided side-by-side a hot air generating furnace 2 with its one end of a kiln main body 11 having a solid fuel feeding shoot 13, auxiliary combustion burner 14 and combustion air supply fan 15 and the other end having a secondary combustion chamber 16; and a heating and drying furnace 3 having at one end of the kiln main body 36 a biomass power generation wooden chip feeding screw feeder 39 and scraping blades 35 arranged at its peripheral part. These hot air generating furnace 2 and heating and drying furnace 3 are connected by a hot air supply duct 4. In addition, the hot air generating furnace 2 is provided with a static pressure sensor 17 and in turn provided with a static pressure/discharged air amount control unit 18 for controlling to adjust a degree of opening of a main damper 7 so as to cause the in-furnace static pressure to be kept at a prescribed negative pressure value.
