PURPOSE:To prevent thermal deformation of air nozzle, by holding the base portion of said air nozzle between peripheral flanges of upper and lower shells in a casing incorporating therein both of reducing catalyst and oxidizing catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Secondary air nozzle 13 is extended horizontally from the joint portion of upper shell 1 and lower shell 2 at one side of casing 3, i.e., from portions 1b' and 2b' of flanges 1b, 2b shaped into semicircular form, to extend through central space D, and base portion 13c of the air nozzle 13 is fixed at the portions 1b', 2b' by way of welding. On the other hand, flat top end portion 13d of the secondary air nozzle 13 is supported between holding portions 1b'' and 2b'' located on the opposite side of said portions 1b', 2b' to form a narrow space therebetween. With such an arrangement, axial displacement of air nozzle 13 can be absorbed by clearance (t). |
