摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a reflection type liquid crystal display device which has a wide selecting range for selecting the material of a reflection electrode and a structure difficult to exert an influence on alignment of liquid crystals and can be easily manufactured without need of a counter BM and consideration for reduction of a reflection area due to simplification of manufacturing stage and positioning accuracy to a counter substrate. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device having the liquid crystal interposed between a pair of substrates, a pixel electrode consisting of a transparent conductive film disposed on one substrate in a matrix form and a semiconductor element connected to the pixel electrode, one substrate of the pair of substrates has transparency and an insulating property and the other substrate has a common electrode provided thereon and consisting of a reflection layer and a transparent conductive film. The present invention is characterized in that the reflection layer, the transparent conductive film and the common electrode are separated from one another and the reflection layer is provided on the side of the counter substrate. The reflection layer is specified to be a layer of a medium consisting of a single body or laminated structure of used material and having >=30% reflectivity in air.
