The claimed invention relates to systems for delivering medical liquids, in particular, to devices for delivering drugs suitable for use in cooperation with dialysis equipment, and also to methods for delivering drugs using the device and system. The invention is based on the device, comprising a tubing set (12), suitable for use in the system for delivering medical fluids (10). The tubing set comprises a delivery tube (68) suitable for supplying a medical liquid or blood to a patient; and a vial gate (24) for the connection of vials (26) containing drugs to be delivered into the medical liquid or blood. The vial gate comprises a delivery lumen (28), suitable for delivering the drug (30) from the vial to the delivery tube; and a vent lumen (32), suitable for providing a replacement fluid (34, 60) from a location (20, 64) inside the tubing set (12) to the inside of the vial in order to replace the delivered drug. The vial gate according to the invention further comprises at least one one-way valve (70, 72) placed along said delivery lumen (28) or said vent lumen (32). The claimed method for delivering drug (30) in a hemodialysis extra-corporeal circuit (36) of a hemodialysis machine (10) comprising the above delivery device is based on that a pump (74) is used for providing a pulsating pressure in the extra-corporeal circuit and the inner space of the vial (26) is connected with the lumens (28, 32), wherein via the delivery lumen (28) the drug (30) is delivered to the delivery tube (68), and via the vent lumen (32) the replacement fluid (34, 60) is delivered to the inside of the vial (26) in order to replace the delivered drug (30). |
