PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door self-closing device with a power unit that is thinned and downsized and can be widely applied to a wood door panel with small thickness.SOLUTION: A self-closing device is applicable to a sliding door in which a wood door panel 2 with thickness of 28 mm to 32 mm is suspended and supported. The self-closing device comprises: a power unit 21, which is mounted on a spring attachment concavity 101 at an upper part of the door panel 2 and energizes the door panel 2 to close; and a cylinder-type air damper 22, which is stored in a guide rail 1 and brakes the door panel 2. The power unit 21 comprises: a wire drum 23; a wire 24, which is rolled up by a trunk 32; a power spring 25 stored in the trunk 32; a drum case 26; and a drum shaft 27. The drum case 26 comprises: a pair of case frames 57 made of metal plate material; an upper cap body 58; and a lower cap body 59.
