PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable nitrogen monoxide gas to be accurately and easily detected.SOLUTION: A nitrogen monoxide gas detection method comprises: an exposure process to expose a detection element, with a detection agent made of PTIO (2-Phenyl-4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazoline-1-oxyl-3-oxide) arranged in pores of a porous body, to a measurement object atmosphere; a measurement process to measure absorbance of the detection agent, which is exposed to the measurement object atmosphere in the exposure process, in a state where ultraviolet and visible light is cut off; and a detection process to detect nitrogen monoxide gas in the measurement object atmosphere on the basis of comparison between the absorbance of the detection element preliminarily measured before being exposed to the measuring object atmosphere and the absorbance measured in the measurement process.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
