PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, an endoscope system, and an image processing method capable of calculating a diagnosis support parameter based on the condition of a blood vessel to be observed.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus 65 comprises: an image acquisition unit 81 for acquiring an endoscopic image captured by an endoscope; a blood vessel extraction unit 82 for extracting blood vessels from an observation object imaged in the endoscopic image, using the endoscopic image; a blood vessel information calculation unit 83; and a blood vessel parameter calculation unit 84. The blood vessel information calculation unit 83 calculates a plurality of pieces of blood vessel information that include at least two of: the number of blood vessels; the number of branches; branch angle; distance between branch points; the number of intersections; thickness; change in thickness; complexity of change in thickness; length; spacing; depth based on mucous membrane; height difference; inclination; area; density; contrast; color; change in color; sinuosity; blood concentration; oxygen saturation; proportion of arteries; proportion of veins; concentration of administered dye; travel pattern; and blood flow rate. The blood vessel parameter calculation unit 84 calculates a blood vessel parameter by carrying out calculations using the plurality of pieces of blood vessel information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
