PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection device capable of detecting the abrasion of the coating part of a diamond bar.SOLUTION: A detection device detects abrasion of a coating part in a diamond bar formed with a coating part by diamond abrasive grain by electrodepositing diamond abrasive grain on a bar-like member having conductivity, and includes: first holding means movably disposed and rotatably holding the diamond bar; second holding means for holding a conductive jig; control means for controlling the first holding means so as to cause the region of the coating part to abut against the jig; detection means for charging the jig and detecting energization of the diamond bar; and determination means for determining that the diamond bar is abraded only when the energization of the diamond bar is detected by the detection means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
