A method of inducing production of IFNγ by purified human female CD4+ or CD8+ T cells, said method comprising the step of exposing purified human female antigen presenting cells to an antigen consisting of recombinant human α-lactalbumin as set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1 in the presence of purified human female CD4+ or CD8+ T cells, wherein said exposing step activates said purified human female CD4+ or CD8+ T cells, thereby inducing production of IFNγ by the purified human female CD4+ or CD8+ T cells.
