<p>Resin-impregnated filaments are continuously converted into continuous helical profiles by being drawn into a radical clearance between a helical thread on a rotating mandrel and a static threaded collar. Used for mfr. of springs or similar profiles made from thermosetting (e.g. epoxy, phenolic, polyester, polyimide) or thermoplastic resins reinforced with filaments of e.g. glass, carbon silica, metal or 'Kevlar' (RTM - aromatic polyamide).</p> |
