The invention relates to a steam-tight bag composed of sealable foil and having an impregnated or impregnable insert made of a fibrous material. In the closed state of the bag the fibrous material is surrounded on at least three sides by sealing seams connecting the foil surfaces and can be exposed by tearing open. To achieve the object of improving a foil bag of this type to the extent that the hands of the user are neither dampened nor soiled, it is proposed according to the invention that the insert (6) be joined to the foil (1) on at least two opposite sides (8, 9) by two further sealing seams (10, 11). <IMAGE>
