A waste-gas guide device for a heating burner which is connected to a chimney, and the combustion chamber of which is supplied combustion air by means of a blower at least for igniting the burner, is to be capable of being built into en existing chimney simply and operated under excess pressure without the risk of waste gas passing through the chimney wall. Inserted into the chimney (12) is a waste-gas pipe (15) which is surrounded by an airtight test chamber (17). The test chamber (17) is connected to the blower (4). Connected to this is a pressure control device (21, 22, 23) which makes the burner (1) switch on only when an excess pressure is built up in the test chamber (17) by the blower (4). <IMAGE>
